Excema types

In Response To: Excema (Dave)
There are different types of excema with different causes and perhaps different symptoms.
Atopic excema is most common and seems to be an allergic reaction. The skin is very itchy and can get infected if you scratch too much and make it bleed.
Varicose excema normally affects older people and causes the skin in the lower legs to become dry and itchy. If not properly treated, it can develop into more serious problems.
Seborrhoeic excema is flaky skin mostly on the head. It can develop in infants or adults, but will usually go away on its own in babies.
There are still other types as well.
