Attention defecit disorder is also known at ADD. It's part of a family of disorders that have been more and more finely classified over the years. There's also ADHD. But then there's Adult ADD and others depending on how specific you want to be. But they all come down to a difficulty maintaining attention for long periods of time. The specifics can vary from one person to another though. Thirty years ago, a lot of kids with this type of disorder were just called hyperactive and adults weren't even given that much. But it's now considered to be a widespread disorder that can be treated.
