What's Wrong With Me?
Cronic Renal Failure

Cronic renal failure, also known as CRF, is basically a progressive failure of the kidneys. It's unlikely that it will be recognized during the early stages because the symptoms, if there are any, aren't very noticeable.
The kidneys normally serve to filter waste out of the body, thus creating urine. As they become less and less efficient, waste products build up in the body and can cause a number of different problems.
A simple blood test can identify CRF, but unfortunately not until the kidneys have deteriorated significantly. This is due to the fact that the kidneys are normally extremely effective at doing their job and you can't notice a problem until they're doing very badly.
Treatment advice varies a great deal. Some argue that a low protein diet is best, but others would argue that you may get too little protein if you go to extremes. In other cases, some might say you should drink as much water as possible to help flush toxins out of the body, while others would say you should restrict fluids to keep from overworking the kidneys.
