Relieving Constapation

Constipation can create some real discomfort, but in the vast majority of cases it can be resolved with some basic changes to your lifestyle.

1. Change in diet. Make sure you get fiber in your diet. Especially insoluble fiber. This helps move everything through the system.

2. Make sure you drink enough water. This will help your stools stay soft enough to pass through easily.

3. Exercise. Exercise of any magnitude will help keep your intestines functioning properly. If you get lazy, they might get lazy.

4. Try not to use laxatives regularly. If your body gets used to laxatives, then it may become even less capable of moving waste through the system by itself. Simply stated, your body may start to depend on the laxatives, in which case you'll be cronically constapated when you stop taking them.
