Hepititus B

Hep B is usually transmitted by blood through sex or sharing needles. If someone has had Hep B and has fully recovered, then they no longer carry the virus and won't infect you. The virus is transmitted by someone who either has recently been infected with an acute case or has chronic hepititus.
If Hep B doesn't go away on its own, then it can last a lifetime and progressively destroy the liver. If you believe you may have been exposed, then see a doctor immediately and begin treatment to get rid of the virus. Once it becomes chronic, there are various drug treatments available, but their effectiveness differs from one person to the next.
