If your daughter's friend already has started treating it (on herself and her children), then she may no longer be able to pass it to someone else. However, your daughter can take precautions by not having any physical contact with her and not sharing anything like clothing or drinks. If your daughter does get it, then it's certainly possible that she could pass it to her baby.
