What's Wrong With Me?
Emphyzema

Emphyzema, unfortunately, is not curable. But it is treatable. And in many cases, it's preventable. Smoking is the #1 cause of emphyzema, so if you smoke, do whatever you can to stop.
If you have emphyzema, then there are treatments available, but they don't always relieve all of the symptoms and they aren't always convenient. In some cases, a bronchial dilater may improve breathing. But if the emphyzema is very bad, then it may be necessary to use an oxygen tank on a regular basis. It's a great disruption to your life, but at least it will allow you to breathe and stay alive.
