Because pnumonia isn't one single illness and can have very different sources, the symptoms can vary greatly. This makes it difficult to diagnose in many cases when it first begins. At first, you may just think you have a cold or the flu. In some case, the symptoms come on quickly and in others they develop more slowly. But the most common symptoms are coughing, aching muscles, a fever, and headache. Eventually, breathing can become more difficult.
