It's important to diagnose and treat strepp throat as soon as possible. Unfortunately, fast diagnosis is difficult because it feels like it's just a cold when it starts. But if your sore throat persists for more than 3 days and gets worse, then see a doctor. Strepp throat is very contagious and you can infect others until you start antibiotic treatment. More importantly, if strepp throat is left untreated, it can cause rheumatic fever, which can in turn cause damage to the heart.
