Peripheral nuropathy can be caused by many different things. In some cases, it may be curable and heal over time. In others, it's chronic and will never go away.

Perhipheral nuropathy is a particular concern for people with diabetes. It can start with a tingling sensation in the feet and ocassional numbness, and develop into severe pain and for some people amputation of a foot.

To avoid the worst case scenario, it's important for diabetics to take care of their feet. It's also important to maintain a healthy diet and maintain constant blood glucose levels as much as possible. The risks of nuropathy can increase if the body is not kept as healthy as possible.
