If you have high blood presure, then it's important to lower it before it causes more serious health problems.
The first step to lowering your blood presure is to make sure you're eating a healthy diet. In general, this just means eating a balanced diet with fruits and vegetables, a little meat (if you eat it at all), some dairy, a little fat, lots of grains, and very little sodium (salt). Also, try not to smoke or drink alcohol.
You also need to get some exercise to keep your heart as healthy as possible and keep your weight under control. Even a brisk walk 3 times a week is infinitely better than nothing.
If you diet and exercise don't lower your blood presure, then you may need medication. There are a number of different blood presure medications. You would need to discuss with your doctor which one may work best for you.
