I can only speak from my own experience with an apendectomy. It did take weeks for me to be able to wear regular jeans again because my abdomen was too sensitive. But I don't recall have a painful lump there. So I don't know what that is. I did have a complication a couple months afterwards where I had extreme pain in my stomach that felt just like it did when I had apendicitis. But the doctors never figured out what that was.
