Hello Mayra,
I'm very sad and concerned about my mom too. Ever since receiving chemo/radiation treatments for tonsil cancer, my mom's dementia has gotten much worse! I cannot help you--but I can relate to your feelings. I feel the same way! She lives with my stepdad (he is not an educated man). She also has a feeding tube because it's too painful for her to eat. So he has to feed her those cans of nutritional products through there. Yet she continues to lose weight and is at 91 1/2 lbs. My stepfather and her are always arguing because he doesn't get it through his head that he should ignore her arguing. So it's a constant battle!! She refuses to move in with me because she insists there's nothing wrong with her. My mom has always hated nursing homes--so I know if I put her in one--she'll probably die sooner!! This situation is driving me nuts!! I can't force her to live with me because she'll constantly be fighting to go home! I don't know what to do!! I wish theres someone out there that is reading these messages that can help all of us!! Mayra--you may write to me at: shada428@optonline.net if you ever need to talk to someone that does really understand!
