I had a laproscopic apendectomy at 8:30pm Tuesday night and will be back to work at 8:00am Thursday morning. I was very fortunate and was able to walk to the bathroom 30 minutes after leaving the operating room. Today is the day after surgery, and the majority of my pain is from the gas trying to leave my abdomen. I'm able to eat small amounts of solid food just 18 hours after the surgery. So the recovery times vary among patients. Overall I feel very good and have taken no pain medicine at all since being discharged from the hospital. By the way, my surgery was done in Toronto, Canada as I'm up here on business. The ER cost, CAT Scan,surgery and overnight stay in the hospital was less than $3,000. Almost worth coming to Canada for the operation alone!
