My father had rhumatic fever when I was concieved & it caused a hole in my heart as this is what my mother was told by the doctor years ago. Do I have to worry about further complications as I get older? Is there more damage it may have done? I am always short of breath & for several years I get these coughing spells that last a month at a time.
