Multipe sclorosis is also called MS. Basically, your nerves, or more often the insulation around your nerves, degenerate. This means that your nerves no longer work very well, and this means that you can't control your muscles very well. So basically, your body no longer does everything you want it to do, or it may do things you don't want. It may even affect your brain so that you can't concentrate or remember things very well.
Although this can be extremely difficult to live with, it generally doesn't shorten your lifespan significantly.
