Distal muscular distrophy

Distal muscular distrophy is a form of MD that becomes noticeable in early to middle adulthood. It involves a progressive weakness in the lower legs, forearms and hands.
Fortunately, this form of MD is not fatal. You can live out a normal life span, although compensations will have to be made for the loss of muscle function.
