The flu is a virus and it's most common in the winter. There are number of different types of flu viruses, but they all have certain symptoms in common. Most commonly, the flu is characterized by aching muscles and a fever. The fever is actually a good thing because that's your body trying to get rid of the virus. However, if the fever gets too high, then it can be a problem in itself.
